Göteborg,the second largest city in Sweden is located on the West Coast of the country. Göteborg (pronounced something like 'yer-te-bor') is also known by its English name Gothenburg. It is Scandinavia's busiest port and has a continental outlook; its showpiece Kungsportsavenyn boulevard is often nicknamed the 'Champs Élysées', and the comparison is justified (in a low-key Nordic way). The cheerful, 
relaxed atmosphere is enhanced by the city's large student population.Långedrag yacht harbor, just 10 minutes from central Goteborg, is the home of GKSS with the largest membership of any yacht club in Sweden. It has a proven race tradition and has garnered several Olympic medalists. For a number of years the GKSS Spring Cup has been the qualifying race to enter Match Cup Sweden which is one of the legs in the World Match Racing Tour
GKSS Spring Cup will take place at Långedrag the last weekend of May where 10 sailors will compete to win a spot at the World Cup races at Marstrand later this summer.
