Carlsten Fortress
Carlsten Fortress dominates the view of Marstrand, where the fort sits on top of the mountain and stretches nearly 100 meters above the sea. The fortress is visited annually by thousands of curious visitors who either join the daily guided tours or look at Fortress Games, which takes place during a week in July every year, where soldiers, peasants, jesters and beggars show up how things were in the days when the fort was newly built.

Galleries
Marstrand houses a number of artists who showcase their creations in their art galleries around the island. Visit www.marstrand.se for detailed information on addresses and opening hours.

Activities at Sea
Marstrand Event arranges a variety of activities related to the sea, as RIB trips, lobster fishing and seal safaris. Visit www.marstrandevent.se for more details or contact the tourist office. MarstrandsKajaker, whose offices are located at Koön level with the entrance of Marstrand, rents kayaks and Marstrand Diving Center organizes diving into the water around Marstrand.

Shopping
In stores on Marstrand is a wide selection of everything from sailing apparel, boating equipment, women's and men's fashion to home decor and crafts.

Food & Drink
In Marstrand, there is food and drink for everyone's tastes and served in luxurious, well-known restaurants, as well as in small cafes and bars along the quay and the streets leading up towards the fortress. Start your day with a breakfast in one of the island's cafes or bakeries - why not a classic "Sail Breakfast" on Berg's? - And finish with garlic au gratin langoustines at the Grand Hotel's restaurant Tenan or enjoy the view from the veranda at Societetshuset or Restaurant Drott.

And of course - in Marstrand can all find your own favorite rock to sunbathe and swim from!
