At 5.03 pm GKSS security volunteers get a call from Sweden Rescue about a drifting Ryd's with an engine failure north of Åstol. Making sure that the ongoing races are under control, they answer the call with an estimated time to the accident within 5 min (ETG). The vessel, a Spectre Marine, sponsored RIB, leaves for the rescue mission.
On site, they search the area and find the distressed boat owners anchored south of Åstol. With prepared ropes, they were able to quickly tow the boat safely to the harbour at Marstrand. A happy ending to an event that could have ended badly for the vacationing couple due to a small electrical error.
